U.S. Poker News, Bodog Building Momentum, Santa Ysabel Indians Vow To Fight On

U.S. Poker News

The U.S. regulated on-line poker market saw a decline soon, with all 4 with the major U.S. poker rooms losing ground. The biggest loser was WSOP Nevada which shed 20% with their traffic now.

Some are speculating that this may be due for some from the recent converts from now closed Ultimate Poker giving up on WSOP Nevada, nevertheless it’s challenging to suppose having much of an impact since it’s not too Ultimate Poker was all of that great or they would still be around. This may instead be as a result of extra amount of curiosity that's stimulated by this with no doubt settled down to more normal levels now.

In New Jersey, it’s been painstaking week thus far but things did fare just a little better, with top ranked Party Borgata only dropping 4% which allowed it to carry on its lead as the top site overall in the U.S.

Bodog Building Momentum

Bodog has become a force inside the online poker industry for a little while now, emerging because the clear winner in the U.S. friendly poker market following the events of Black Friday whittled the marketplace right down to a couple of less heavily trafficked sites.

As time went on though, Bodog captured the title of # 1 remaining site from Merge, and has been gathering momentum since.  They have been inside the top 6 or 7 for quite a while now, and a week ago reached an all-time high for the children using fourth place showing overall.

They are right available online for with fifth place Party Poker in terms of average traffic though, and while Full Tilt has leaped past them in the meantime, that is mainly on account of Full Tilt’s current promotion, and Bodog has demonstrated lately that they can compete with either of the sites on any week.

That’s sure a far cry from the past where both of these other sites were dominant forces and Bodog was no more than an also ran.  Competing and quite often beating Party Poker and Full Tilt surely shows that Bodog has definitely arrived inside the big time.  We’ll check if they could arrive at the next step however the potential is certainly there.

Santa Ysabel Indians Vow To Fight On

While acknowledging the takedown of the online bingo sites from the courts, the Santa Ysabel Indian tribe of California has spoken out and vowed to continue the battle to offer real cash gaming to Californians in spite from the wishes of California legislators that they cease doing so without permission.

The tribe is mounting legal challenges with their own and a lot of this comes right down to how games should be classified under federal law, if they are Class II that's not at the mercy of state approval or Class III which is.

They have the freedom to offer games on the tribal lands without state approval but it comes into what sort of court will probably interpret online play, and also the internet does make this not cut and dry.  So the courts is going to be left to choose this and that may take some time.
